Hurla Project
- Hurla I is a 5 MW project and is located in the picturesque Kullu valley, close to the Bhuntar airport.
- It is accessible all year round from the National Highway to Manali
- The infrastructure in the area has been developed due to the 800
MW Parbati project under construction in the area by the National Hydro
Electric Power Corporation (NHPC). Good roads network along the full
span of the project. A 33 KV sub-station is being commissioned at
Garsah, a km from the proposed power house. Strong grid and
a sub-station exist about 8 kms away.
- The Parbati project would tap a portion of the Hurla
catchment in the upper reaches for almost six months in a year (About
55 sq.kms. out of total of about 122 sq.kms.
- Demand for power in the area due to nearby airport, Bhuntar township and local industries
- Project is close (but outside the boundary) of the Great
Himalayan National Park. No Objection from the park authorities already
obtained.
