Giri III Project
- This
3 MW project is
based on the tail waters of an
existing
60 MW Giri
project, designed and implemented by
our ex-team member Late Er
D S Rao
- Upstream
project operational since
1979, providing long term data for firm power generation for us.
- Infrastructure
like sub-station,
grid, roads etc, of the existing project are be available for this
project.
De-silted water from upstream project and other infra would reduce cost
and
implementation time.
- After
the commissioning of the Renuka
Dam upstream of the Giri
project to store the run-off during rains, the generation of the
project will
increase substantially.
- A
hydrological model for the Giri
basin is being developed using the integrated watershed
development principles.
- The
project is located at an
elevation of 438 to 416 meters above mean sea level. It is about 5
hours drive
from Delhi and about 2 hours from Chandigarh.
- The
project being located on foot
hills offers potential for real estate development as well, keeping in
view the
high rate of industrialization in Himachal due to tax holiday.
